Russians were named alternatives to the UAE for holidays due to the Middle East crisis

March 27 18:00

Due to the military conflict in the Persian Gulf, the usual routes to the Middle East were unavailable. The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation recommended that tour operators suspend the sale of tours to the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. They were replaced by other directions, writes Vslukh.ru.

Thus, the demand for holidays in Egypt has almost tripled. Interest in the countries of Southeast Asia has also increased. According to Marcel Kirlan, associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Türkiye, Egypt and Thailand remain the most popular among tourists – they are attracted by affordable prices, developed infrastructure and stable air traffic.

Experts note a new trend: travelers are increasingly choosing combined routes, visiting several countries at once as part of one trip. Domestic tourism also remains relevant: in the spring, interest in excursion trips to Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Kaliningrad region, the Caucasus, Karelia, Altai and Baikal grows.

The booking window has shifted to last minute offers: tourists prefer to buy tours 1-2 weeks before departure so as not to freeze funds.
