Romanian Football Federation conveyed to the supporters Romanians who will be present at the match in Istanbul a series of important information, communicated by the local authorities and the Turkish Football Federation, regarding the meeting point of the fans, access to the stadium and the rules regarding the allowed materials.

  • Turkey – Romania will be played on March 26, from 19:00, match broadcast by Prima TV. If we win, we play the World Cup qualification final against Slovakia/Kosovo on March 31, 2026.

Where will the Romanian fans meet

According to the press release issued by the FRF, the official meeting point of the Romanian supporters was established by the authorities in Taksim Square, more precisely in Gezi Park. Supporters can gather freely in that park from 15:45 when a Fan Meeting Point will be opened. Departure to the stadium is scheduled to start at 16:45, under police supervision.

When will the Romanian fans be able to enter the stadium

The stadium gates will open at 17:00.

Access to the stadium in Istanbul will be made exclusively on the basis of the ticket, accompanied by a valid identity document: identity card, passport, birth certificate (for children)

Rules set by local authorities and prohibited items in the stadium

The Turkish authorities have set several strict rules regarding materials brought into the stadium. For the safety of all spectators, they have prohibited the introduction of several categories of objects:

  • coins, lighters and external batteries

  • backpacks or satchels

  • weapons and dangerous objects

  • food and drinks brought in from outside, including water or alcohol

  • containers – bottles

  • bulky items – large bags, trolleys, luggage larger than 75 cm cumulatively.

Major interest from the Romanian fans

The semi-final of the 2026 World Cup qualification play-off has aroused great interest among the supporters of the Romanian national team. The Turks offered Romanian fans 5% of the capacity of the Besiktas Park stadium in Istanbul, and the 2,130 available tickets were sold in just a few seconds.
