The court commuted the sentences of commercial director of “Caution, Media” Kirill Sukhanov and journalists Arian Romanovsky and Tamerlan Bigaev by two years. Bigaev: from 7 to 5 years old, Romanovsky similarly, Sukhanov – from 7.5 years to 5.5. The appeal hearing was held behind closed doors.
Journalists have been in pre-trial detention since October 2022. They are accused of extortion by selling “negative blocks.” According to investigators, the journalists prepared a post for the “Lights Out” channel with information that could harm Rostec head Sergei Chemezov and his loved ones. To prevent the material from being published, they asked him for 11 million rubles.
