Drastic fail for Florinel Coman (27 years old) in Qatar. Al-Gharafa was defeated at home by Al Ahli Doha (11th place, penultimate, before the game), score 1-4, in the 19th stage.

Started by coach Pedro Martins (55 years old), the Romanian played 66 minutes, being replaced by Alvaro Djalo. It was already 2-1 to the opponent at the time of the change.

Florinel Coman and Al-Gharafa, fail drastically in Qatar

The match seemed to be going according to plan for the hosts in the first half hour. In the 28th minute, Brahimi coolly converted a penalty kick to make it 1-0.

But nothing foreshadowed the disaster that would follow in the second act. The guests equalized just a few seconds after the resumption of the game, through the new entrant Abdelrahman (min. 46), who took advantage of a collective inattention in the home team's defense.

The shock was amplified in the 59th minute when Nigerian defender Troost-Ekong scored to make it 2-1, turning the tide of the game.

In the end, Al-Gharafa went on the attack, but were severely punished on the counterattack. Vlap made the score 3-1 from a penalty in the 87th minute, and the same Abdelrahman managed to “double” in overtime (90+6), consecrating a drastic failure for Coman's team.

Following this result, Al-Gharafa is in 3rd place in the championship, with 34 points, 4 behind the leader Al-Sadd. On the other hand, the opponent is on 10th, the first above the relegable places, with 19 points.

For Coman's team, the away duel with Al-Duhail follows on April 4.

Coman has played 22 games this season for the Qatari outfit, scoring 3 goals and providing an assist. He is quoted by the specialized website Transfermarkt at 4 million euros.
