March 11 12:50

The Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Irkutsk Region are moving to practical cooperation in the field of UAS, the regional Ministry of Digital Development said. The parties signed a corresponding agreement in Irkutsk within the framework of the national project “Unmanned Aircraft Systems”.

“We are implementing a national project of the same name, a regional program and strategy in the region. The region acts as a pilot site in a number of areas: from introducing ideas to improve legislation in the field of BAS to holding a thematic session at the All-Russian Youth Forum. We are ready to share our work experience with colleagues and work together, which will allow us to effectively use advanced technologies in the industry. Joining efforts will be an important step towards technological leadership in the UAS industry and will provide both territories with competitive advantages,” said Nikolai Raspopin, Minister of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The parties intend to join forces to introduce advanced technologies in their territories. The regions will share practical experience in operating drones, technologies and methodology. It is planned to hold seminars, round tables and meetings on the training of specialized personnel and the development of common approaches to the use of drones in various sectors of the economy.

“My colleagues from the Krasnoyarsk Territory and I discussed the parameters of future cooperation and came to the understanding that each region has its own unique developments and approaches. I am confident that combining our competencies and sharing experience will allow us to bring the use of unmanned technologies to a qualitatively new level,” said First Deputy Governor of the Irkutsk Region Roman Kolesov.

The signing of the agreement took place within the framework of the educational intensive “Application of unmanned aerial systems in control and supervisory activities.” The event was held by the Deputy Head of the Information Technology Center of the Krasnoyarsk Territory – Head of the SDG Service Anna Osikova. She spoke about the practice of using unmanned aircraft systems in the region and the targets facing the unmanned aircraft industry in the region.

Let us recall that last year the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov ordered to expand the use of drones. The head of the region held a meeting on this topic on the territory of the AWACS research and production enterprise, a local manufacturer known throughout Russia. Today, the devices are actively used in the forestry sector: they are used to detect fires, as well as illegal cutting of trees and dumps of household waste on the territory of the state forest fund. In addition, unmanned systems can provide assistance to farmers and inspect engineering infrastructure and natural resource extraction sites from the air.
