According to him, the Russian Federation expects to increase the risks of a long war in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region in order to minimize global pressure on itself for the war against Ukraine.
The Kremlin also plans to get out of the sanctions of Ukraine’s partners and receive additional resources due to fluctuations in oil and gas prices, the president indicated.
“There is evidence of the Russians’ intentions to talk about the complete lifting of energy sanctions. We are deciding on our countermeasures and will inform our partners,” Zelensky said.
