Trump's reaction to news that Russia is passing on information to Iran: “It doesn't go very well if they do it”

US President Donald Trump downplayed reports that Russia was providing Iran with targeting data against US forces in the Middle East, saying that if such actions do occur, their impact is low.

Trump's statements come after the appearance of a material in The Washington Post, which recounted possible military cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, according to Tvr Info.

Asked about the report indicating that Russia was passing on intelligence to Iran useful for attacks on US positions, Trump said there was no certainty, but suggested the results would be limited anyway. The leader of the White House emphasized that recent developments show that Iran has not achieved significant gains, which, in his opinion, would demonstrate the lack of effectiveness of such support

“We don't know, but it doesn't go very well if they do “It doesn't do much, if we look at what happened with Iran in the last week“, Trump told journalists.

“They can send as much information as they want, but the receivers are already overloaded”

Asked to clarify, the president avoided a direct answer and made a comparison with the support that the American services provide to Ukraine in the conflict with Russia.

“If we did that, they would say we are doing it against them. They can send as much information as they want, but the receivers are already overloaded. In such a situation, Russia would also end up being overwhelmedTrump also said.

Trump suggested that intelligence sharing is common practice in conflict zones and added that under current conditions, even Russia could be “overwhelmed” if they were trying to manage a large volume of operational data.

Military Context: Shahed Drones and Iran's Capability

Shahed drones, originally supplied to Russia in the early months of the 2022 invasion, continue to be a central element in attacks on Ukraine. They are used almost daily in night operations and have recently been involved in attacks on some countries in the Persian Gulf area.

Donald Trump claimed that Iran would have difficulty maintaining its drone production, saying that the Iranian industry would operate at a fraction of its original capacity. According to him, reducing this capacity would contribute, in the long term, to a more secure global situation.

The U.S. has intelligence suggesting China may be preparing to provide Iran with financial assistance, spare parts and missile components, three people familiar with the situation said, although Beijing has so far officially stayed out of the war.
