This was reported by the Finnish Border Guard. The country's authorities intend to cut down forest on an area of almost 120 kilometers along the border with Russia by the end of the year to install a fence, Yle reports.
In the south-eastern regions of the Russian-Finnish border, a section of forest has already been cut down over an area of 45 kilometers.
