Kader Keita, the midfielder of Rapid, was involved in a road accident on Tuesday morning in which a 67-year-old woman was hit on the pedestrian crossing and ended up in a serious condition at the hospital. Victor Angelescu, details about the accident caused by Keita: “He was at the base today”
The Giulești official spoke about the player's situation and the next steps in this case.
“There are investigations, a trial will probably follow. The Romanian Police is in charge. We don't know more than what was written about the victim. We tried to get in there, at the hospital, through the club, but we can't.
He was banned from leaving the country. That's about it. You realize that he is not well mentally now. We'll wait and see what happens with the victim. Then, when he's mentally fit again, he'll come back.
He was at the base today to talk to us and the players. We are now trying to focus on the match with Craiova. He didn't say anything more than what was written. He is not in an ok situation from a mental point of view”, said Victor Angelescu, according to digisport.ro.
What is the victim's condition?
The victim is in an induced coma and underwent surgery for a fractured right leg. He also suffered a fracture to his left hand, but in this case surgery was not required.
Doctors also detected an older heart pathology, one of the causes being smoking. It is assumed that, for this reason, the woman suffered a decompensation on Wednesday, complaining of chest pains and breathing problems. The patient is still at risk of heart attack.
