General Mayor Ciprian Ciucu announced that today, for two weeks, the regulations regarding competitions for the positions of theater managers were put up for public debate and he urged people “with experience” in the field to sign up to be part of the competition commissions.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, the alderman said the bylaw “will be improved” if necessary.
“For the first time, we will select, according to the law, the competition commissions. The registrations, and I ask those with experience to sign up, will start in two weeks. For commissions, not for directors. And those for directors will be scheduled after we have the commissions”, explained Ciprian Ciucu.
He said that “these contests will be for real”.
“They will be carried out by specialists, they will not be decided by me (…). Our theaters need stable managers, who undertake to perform based on predictable mandates!”, said Ciprian Ciucu, who mentioned Oana Pelea and Tudor Chirilă in the post.
Commissions “composed of people with experience and notoriety in the field”
The City Hall of the Capital sent a statement about the launch of the regulation in public debate and said that it wants people “with experience and notoriety in the field” in the competition commissions.
“We are asking for the support of people of culture! We need your expertise to be part of the competition commissions. They will be composed of people with experience and notoriety in the field, who will analyze the management projects of the candidates, interview them and select the best”, declared the municipality.
The institution explained that a competition commission will be created – made up of specialists in the field and representatives of the mayor's office – for each performance institution, but “an expert can be a member of several commissions”.
According to the mayor's office, the conditions for committee members are:
- to have experience and notoriety in the field;
- not to have had, in the last two years, contractual relations with the performance institution for which the contest is organized, nor with any of the candidates.
The City Hall of the Capital stated that experts who want to be part of the commissions can register starting from March 10 and until the end of March 24.
