polyTECHNICAL IASI will not be able to fulfill the objective of the season, the return to the Superliga after only one year. The failure in Dumbrăvița, from the penultimate round of the 2nd Football League, meant that IASIul to be, after the 19th stage, eight points from the last position that leads to the play-off, 6th. Manager Florin Briaur said that, despite the difficulties and a very young team, the team is not afraid of relegation.
Since there are two rounds left in the regular season of the second division, Poli will surely play in the play-out. At the same time, officials are working to obtain the license for next season and to approve the insolvency plan this spring, while in parallel there are negotiations for the sale of the club.
They are not afraid of relegation
In a complicated financial situation and with a thin batch, Politehnica Iași, which at Dumbrăvița had a batch with an average age of 21.8 years, is not afraid of relegation either.
“We have enough valuable players who could play in the first league at any time. Together with the young ones, I can get results so that we don't have emotions about relegation. We have nine points ahead of the first place that leads to the play-off, at the current time there is only a two-week delay in paying a salary, I am optimistic that we will remain without problems in the 2nd League” said Politehnica's manager, Florin Briaur.
No licensing issues
He also said that Politehnica Iași is also working to obtain the license for the next season: “We are struggling to get out of the financial impasse we are in and to shore up the ship. We act on several levels. In parallel with the sports training, we want to get the license for the next season. Despite the existing problems, I am optimistic that we will also stay in League 2 and we will also get the license, with the help of some people who did not leave the club hard”.
At the same time, Poli wants to have the insolvency plan approved this spring.
Negotiations for the transfer of control of the club
“I believe the insolvency plan will be approved this spring. Then, the financial situation of the club will be known to the last detail, which we will also do an audit. With all the data on the table, I hope to advance the discussions we have with the people who have shown interest in investing in Poli. If everything comes to fruition, it is not excluded that promotion will be attacked next yearBriaur also said.
At the present time, the Polytechnic's debts have reached around 1.3 million euros, apart from the four million euros due to which it entered insolvency. However, the last debts can be consistently reduced and staggered after the approval of the insolvency plan.
