After elimination from the Champions League, InterCristi Chivu's had a handy duel with Genoa in Serie A, on Saturday evening, at the “Giuseppe Meazza” stadium, the match won 2-0.
Heading into the match, Inter were top of Serie A, 10 points clear of chasers AC Milan and one hand on the Italian trophy, even if they were still feeling the bitterness of being knocked out of the Champions League.
Saturday's opponent was Genoa, Dan Șucu's formation, the “griffins” being close to the relegation zone and directly interested in every point at stake.
Genoa tried, but Inter were not fooled
And this was seen and felt on the field, when Cristi Chivu's team did not manage to break away easily, living with emotions at first and then with a fragile advantage.
Bonny had the first opportunity for the home team in the 17th minute, but Bijlow denied in the corner at the last moment.
Ten minutes later, Mkhitaryan hit the bar, but the scoreboard did not change this time either.
Finally, at the end of the first half hour, Dimarco brought peace to his side, making it 1-0 from Mkhitaryan's cross.

The situation became clearer after the penalty in the 70th minute, when Calhanoglu converted the penalty for 2-0, bringing even more peace to the camp of Cristi Chivu's team.
10 minutes later, Ellertsson had the chance to limit the scoring proportions, but failed to do so, and in the end the match in Milan ended in a 2-0 victory for Chivu's side, who now moved 13 points clear of their city rivals and were, from stage to stage, getting closer to winning the title.
