Tens of millions of parents in Russia risk becoming corrupt if they give teachers anything more than 3k rubles. But there is a nuance. The Corruption Law “Prohibition of Gifts” says: up to 3k is nice, more is a bribe.
There are no quantity restrictions yet. If parents want to give several items, then the “3k rule” applies to them separately: each is no more expensive than three rubles. A gift from the class should also not be more expensive than the specified amount – and it doesn’t matter how many donors chip in.
According to statistics, 55% of teachers consider a present in the range of 1.5k to be normal, 25% – for 1.5–3k. 14% of teachers have not heard about the law and confidently say: they would like an adjustment for 3–5k. 5% prefer 5–7k, but the brave 1% prefer the option from 7k to infinity. Parents think that chipping in up to 500 rubles is okay (31%), 36% of respondents are for the option from 500 to 1k, 23% for 1–3k, 8% are ready to allocate 3–5k, and only 2% are ready to give a luhar option for 5k to their favorite teachers. 2% of mothers and fathers do not participate in fundraising on principle.
Most often, loved ones are given flowers (55%), gift cards (66%) and confectionery (42%). As well as skincare cosmetics, household goods, stationery, delicacies and perfumes. Classroom teachers receive the most attention; school management or teachers have the least luck in subjects that are problematic for the child.
