CBAM may cost Ukraine $4.7 billion in exports – we must achieve a postponement before it is too late.
The introduction of the CBAM ecological duty (SVAM) without mitigation for Ukraine will lead to a loss of export revenues at the level of $4.7 billion.
Volodymyr Golovko, head of the Center for Political Analysis, warned about this.
He says that with the appointment of Taras Kachka as Deputy Prime Minister, there is a chance to intensify negotiations with the EU. Kachka is an experienced negotiator who understands how to protect the interests of Ukrainian industry.
Golovko emphasizes: Ukraine has the right to postpone CBAM under EU law, and now is the key moment to achieve this.
It is interesting that now in the EU there is also a growing debate about the need to slow down the “green transition” for industry.
