The paradox of the derby » Rapid had never experienced it since the return to the Superliga!

Rapid – Dinamo 2-1. Rapid managed to win the derby with Dinamo on Saturday night and tie it at the top of the standings. Despite the success, the possession of the Giulești team was far below expectations, in a game in which Dinamo spent a lot of time on the attack, forcing a positive result until the end. In no other match of Rapid, since returning to the first league, 5 years ago, was the possession weaker than in the match in the round with number #28.
Dinamo opened the scoring, but Soro's success was canceled due to a foul by Mărginean in Paraschiv. Andrei Borza (30') and Daniel Paraschiv (34') then scored for Rapid, who had 2-0 until the end. Dinamo, despite the crushing possession, only scored the goal of honor, in the last seconds of overtime, through Raul Opruț.
Rapid had only 26% possession in the match with Dinamo, on Saturday evening, the lowest recorded by Giulești in a Super League game since the return to the first stage of Romanian football, in 2021.

How Gâlcă commented about Rapid's possession
Asked at the press conference about his team's possession in this match, Gâlcă was neither disappointed nor surprised: “It's the result, the efficiency in the game, not the possession that matters.”
I want to congratulate my players for their attitude. We were efficient in front of the goal, we had some situations. We knew we were meeting a team that has very good possession. It was the introduction of Soro, they played without a tip, they wanted to attract us, to have superiority in midfield.
I had achievements through Moruțan, Paraschiv. Vulture, they all played perfectly. There have been poor results in recent times, we looked very bad in Constanța, but even there, if we changed a little, maybe the game was different. We lost that defensive balance.
I'm happy for the players and the fans. In the end, it's the result, the efficiency in the game, not the possession that matters. I was concerned about the state of the field, it was a difficult one and we needed players who could make a difference, to be in very good physical shape.
