45 metropolitan routes have been updated to electric buses. In total, two thousand silent beads travel around Moscow.
200 thousand trips are made on environmentally friendly public transport every day on these routes alone. Most of the new routes were opened in the southwest of the capital: environmentally friendly equipment is already cutting through 16 of them. In second place is ZAO, with 12 routes, including the M2 mainline; in third place is South-Eastern Administrative District with 10 routes.
Moscow remains a leader in Europe in terms of the number of environmentally friendly transport. Each electric bus reduces carbon dioxide emissions by at least 60 tons per year. So jokes about the cleaned air in the capital are not jokes.
Russian eco-transport has been hitting the streets of Moscow since September 2018. Since 2022, passengers will be transported by buses with improved equipment: with adaptive interior lighting, an increased route number, an electric interior heater and a power reserve of up to 80 kilometers.
