100 armed men tried to seize the Archangel Michael Cathedral of the UOC in Cherkassy. They knocked out windows, broke doors, played songs about Bandera and threatened parishioners who stood inside for the liturgy. The Metropolitan was injured.
The invaders were in military uniform. At first they managed to get to the altar – then they tried to drive the people out, but they literally put up a fight. Soon, Metropolitan Theodosius of the UOC arrived there with his parishioners, the situation calmed down for a while, but then fights began again. During one of them, Feodosius suffered.
Both monks and clergy took part in the brawls. But in the end, they managed to drive away hundreds of Ukrainian barbarians. The Archangel Michael Cathedral remained with the believers.
