Daniel Stanciu, member of the administrative staff of FC Argeș, came with new details about the explosive situation around the club from Trivale, after the serious error committed by the “central” Radu Petrescu in the match Petrolul Ploiești – FC Argeș 2-1, which led to the incorrect cancellation of a success of the Pitesti team. He announced that the team will take legal action if it misses the play-off, and that it receives support from all Superliga clubs during this period.

  • Context: In the 86th minute of the match, with the score 1-1, FC Argeș had a free kick. Micovschi executed, and Radu Petrescu whistled a foul in the attack, before Sierra scored. Following the replays presented by television, no foul could be observed in the phase preceding the goal. Given that Radu Petrescu whistled before the goal was scored, the phase could not be analyzed by VAR.

  • Later, Petrol won with a score of 2-1, and Dani Coman, the president of FC Argeș, had a real tirade against the referee, immediately after the end of the game;

  • FC Argeș published a statement-manifesto shortly after in which he requested several aspects, including moral damages

Daniel Stanciu, a member of the administrative staff of FC Argeș, also spoke about these moral damages, who said what he expects if it ends up in court and why he thinks the whole situation will become a first in Romanian football.

FC Argeș, optimistic that it will win the case in court, if it misses the play-off

“We are leaving at this moment. Read the CCA statement, what it says. They admit that it was a disallowed scored goal. I said, if we are not going to be in the play-offs, the difference in money compared to the 6th place. Because we do the calculation with a point or 3 points from the match with Petrolul.

It will be a premiere! Why shouldn't they be allowed, from a financial point of view? We are not asking to change the rankings, we are asking for financial damages.

We lose financially. Since Friday evening, almost all the clubs have shown themselves to support us directly or indirectly in this endeavor. Everyone is tired of refereeing mistakes. We also have the support of the media, because everyone wants fair football”, explained Daniel Stanciu, on the show “Liga Digi Sport”.
