Russia wants to make a deal, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must move or he will miss a great opportunity, US President Donald Trump said on Friday. In this way, he answered the question about the pressure exerted by the US administration on the Ukrainian authorities.

– Russia wants to make a deal, and Zelensky will have to move, otherwise he will miss a great opportunity. He has to move, Trump said during a call with reporters before flying to Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
He did not elaborate on his statement, but it was a response to a question about the pressure exerted by the US on Ukraine to organize the presidential elections.
The Trump administration is expected to insist, among other things: to hold elections this spring, supporting the Russian demand. President Zelensky also spoke about the pressure exerted by the US, claiming that the White House wants the war to end by June, so that it happens before the November congressional elections.
Meanwhile, the Financial Times reported on Friday that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio resigned at the last minute from attending a meeting with European leaders, including Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Donald Tusk, in Munich regarding the war in Ukraine. According to the newspaper, European capitals saw this as a signal of Washington's waning interest in engaging Europe in efforts to resolve the conflict.
Rubio was scheduled to attend a meeting with leaders including: Germany, Poland, Finland and the European Commission in Munich on Friday afternoon, but canceled the meeting at the last minute due to scheduling conflicts.
“The Secretary will not attend the Berlin-format meeting on Ukraine, given the number of meetings taking place at the same time,” the U.S. representative said. “During many meetings in Munich, he deals with issues of Russia-Ukraine relations.”
Nevertheless, during a conversation with journalists in front of the White House, Trump also assured that he had great relations with Europe and NATO and said that he was conducting negotiations on the future of Danish Greenland.
– Greenland will want to join us – said the US president.
