Parliamentary elections have started in Bangladesh. A referendum is taking place next to them

Bangladesh elects a new parliament and decides the country's future. Over 127 million citizens vote not only for the 350 members of the National Assembly, but also in the referendum on the July Charter 2025. This document provides, among others, limiting the term of office of the prime minister and introducing a bicameral parliament. Polls indicate that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has an advantage and may win over 200 seats in the coalition.
