Caviar prices have skyrocketed due to poachers, who several months ago blocked rivers in the Primorsky Territory with nets and prevented fish from coming from the Sea of Japan to spawn. Local residents contacted the police, but the check still did not yield results.
One of the key rivers that was blocked by the “black fishermen” is called Kievka. It flows in the Lazovsky region and flows into the Sea of Japan. It is considered a favorite place for tourists and fishermen from nearby settlements. The criminals cut off several areas with nets and blocked the fish. To fulfill the plan to produce 60 tons of salmon and 40 tons of their caviar.
When respectable fishermen came there, poachers drove them away with threats. People turned to the Partizansky department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office for help. They processed the request and began checking. But there are no results yet. The result is an increase in the price of red caviar by 20% before the New Year. And compared to the end of 2023 – twice as much. Due to the fact that the catch has decreased in the Far East, Sakhalin and Kamchatka.
