The Federal Tax Service for the Krasnoyarsk Territory explained how the federal tax benefit works for participants in a special operation and their families. Now they can get an exemption from paying transport tax for one car.

Military personnel, volunteers, employees of the Russian Guard and other law enforcement agencies involved in participation in the military defense are entitled to the benefit. The exemption also applies to their close relatives: spouses, minor children, as well as disabled adult children and full-time students under 23 years of age.

The benefit is valid for the entire calendar year in which the citizen participated in the SVO, regardless of the duration of participation. It is provided automatically for one vehicle with the maximum tax amount, unless the owner himself chooses another vehicle by notifying the tax office.

However, there are restrictions: the benefit does not apply to cars worth 10 million rubles or more, as well as to aircraft and water vessels (except for motor boats). At the same time, certain categories of SVO participants may also qualify for an additional regional transport tax benefit established by the law of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

More information about rates and benefits can be found through a special service on the official website of the Federal Tax Service.
