How Diego Zivulic explains the unconscious entrance from Steel

Steel – FCSB 1-4. Key moment of the game at the start of the second half (51'), when the Galatasaray team was outnumbered. Croatian Diego Zivulic (33 years old) was removed after a rough entry on him Daniel Birligea (25 years old). At the end, he explained that he had no intention and that he should not have received a “red” from referee Bîrsan.
At the moment he tried to pass to Olaru, the top of the red-blues was stepped on the ankle, while running, by the Croatian from Galați.
Initially Zivulic was not sanctioned, but after consulting the images on the VAR monitor, the “central” removed him.

In the end, the Croatian explained that Bîrsan's decision was much too harsh and he should not be eliminated.
“After they started the game better, we came back and went 1-0 up. But unfortunately we made two mistakes and went into half-time at a disadvantage. What happened happened! Unfortunately I got a red card and I'm disappointed and frustrated! It wasn't the intention at all, I can tell you that.
I went with my foot, outside, but when I landed with my sole I stepped on Bîrligea. The referee hadn't even blown his whistle. What more can I say? I have nothing to apologize for. I know there was contact, that I went there to get the ball out, but my intention was not to injure him.
In Botoșani, in the last match, the same thing happened! When I was stepped on, not even a yellow card was given! I don't know how the referees thought like that!
We led 1-0 and were in control, but we made two mistakes in the center of the pitch and then we conceded from set-pieces. Then the red card made a huge difference in how the game went.
If you want to win at home against teams that have a bigger budget than you, then you have to give 100%. Unfortunately, today I was not at a very good level”, said Diego Zivulic, in the mixed area.

There are 4 games left until the end of the regular season and we will do everything to fight until the last moment to qualify for the play-offs.
