Today, the first Romanian athletes entered the competition at the Milan Cortina Olympic Games. At the Cortina Sliding Centre, the lugers completed the first two legs of the individual event. The start was close to what we scheduled. We aimed to be very consistent on the descents. We also took a little risk, but we are trying not to make the mistakes of Beijing. Let's also keep a dose of safety, if we can call it safety, at 120-130 km per hour on ice. With how many years behind me, I feel very well all the slopes. My personal problem would be that I always want more“, said Crețu in an interview for Team Romania.

I want to be able to stay calm, focused on what I have to do, not to look at my opponents, not to be affected by their performances, and I think we have a chance to go up in the ranking, at least one position – Valentin Crețu

The last two pieces of the competition are scheduled for Sunday, February 8, from 18:00 and 19:34 respectively. Only the top 20 in the standings after the third leg advance to the last, the decisive one for establishing the final ranking.
