Al Akhdoud and Al Hilal meet tonight at 19:30 in a match counting for the 21st stage of the first league of Saudi Arabia. The match can be watched in liveTEXT format on GSP.ro and live on TV on Prima Sport 2.
For Marius Șumudica, the duel with the leader of the championship represents one of the most difficult tests since his return to the bench of the formation from the south of Saudi Arabia, at a time when every point counts in the fight for survival.
LIVE AT 19:30 » Al Akhdoud – Al-Hilal

Al Akhdoud, pressured by the ranking
The formation prepared by the Romanian technician occupies the 17th place in the ranking, with only 10 points collected in 19 stages. Hopes remain alive though, with first place above the relegation line just two points away.
Since the installation of Şumudica, Al Akhdoud managed only one win, 1-0 with Al Kholood, and two draws, with Al Riyadh and Neom, both ending 1-1. In the rest, the formation suffered defeats in line against opponents such as: Al Ahli, Al Ittihad, Al Taawon or Al Khaleej.
The statistics show that most of Al Akhdoud's goals this season have come at home, but the defense remains vulnerable, especially against teams with high offensive strength.
Al Hilal, undefeated leader, but with recent syncopes
On the other hand, Al Hilal comes to this match as the leader of the championship, with 47 points, just ahead of rival Al Nassr. The 21-time champions are the only unbeaten team in the league this season, but they are going through a less convincing period.
The leaders have recorded three consecutive draws in the latter stages with Al Riyadh, Al Qadsiah and Al Ahli, results that have reduced their lead at the top of the table and reignited the title race.
Karim Benzema, possible debut in the shirt of Al Hilal
The match could mark Karim Benzema's debut for Al Hilal. The former Ballon d'Or winner arrived at the Saudi leader after a tense parting with Al Ittihad, the club he played for since 2023.

The Frenchman refused to continue after he was offered a new contract considered offensive, based solely on image rights, with no fixed salary. Benzema was absent from the last two matches of his former team, and the transfer to the great rival has been completed. In the current season, the striker has scored 16 goals in 21 appearances.
History clearly in favor of the leader
Head-to-head confrontations don't offer much reason for optimism for Al Akhdoud. Al Hilal have won all of their last five head-to-head matches, including the most recent 1-0 in October 2025.
Al Akhdoud have the weakest offense in the league, while Al Hilal average over two goals per away game and top the teams in corners and set pieces created.
