Csikszereda announced the transfer of Laszlo Kleinheisler (31 years old), former Hungarian international with 53 caps for his country, including the 2016 and 2021 European Championships.

In search of salvation, Csikszereda made his seventh transfer of the winter. This is also the most spectacular of all, because a footballer with great international experience arrived at Miercurea Ciuc, an offensive midfielder with 53 matches for the first Hungarian national team.

It is about Laszlo Kleinheisler, a player free of contract for more than half a year, after terminating his contract with the Austrians from Grazer at the end of the previous season.

Csikszereda transferred a former Hungarian international: “A real celebration for the entire Szeklerland”

Csikszereda described the move as a big blow:

Welcome, László Kleinheisler!

It is a huge honor for our club to officially welcome Kleinheisler László to the FK Csíkszereda family. This moment is not just a transfer, but a real celebration for the club, for the city and for the entire Szeklerland: we are joined by a Hungarian international with 53 caps, who has played for years at the highest level of international football.

The memorable goal scored in 2015, in Norway, by which he played a key role in the qualification of the Hungarian national team for the European Championship, will forever remain in the memory of the fans. This experience, mentality and quality will now strengthen FK Csíkszereda.

We trust that the rest of the season will be a special and successful one – both for the club and for Laci. Good luck and many memorable moments in the FK jersey!

Kleinheisler made his debut for the Hungarian national team in 2015 and most recently played for Hungary at Euro 2024.

He has clubs such as Werder Bremen, Darmstadt, Ferencvaros and Astana on his CV, but his career has gone downhill in recent years. In the 24/25 season, for example, he played only 13 times for Grazer, in the Austrian first league. Previously, in the 23/24 season, a total of 19 appearances for Panathinaikos and Hajduk Split.

It remains to be seen how soon he will be able to play for Csikszereda, given that he has eight months of inactivity, his most recent appearance being on May 23, 2025, 4 minutes in Tirol – Grazer in the Austrian Championship.
