On Sunday, the second day of the Transylvania Open featured the 4 final round qualifying matches, 4 main draw matches in the singles competition and two more matches in the doubles competition.

Miriam Bulgaru and Mara Gae were defeated by Veronika Erjavec and Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah, 1-6, 4-6, while 2021 champions Irina Bara and Ekaterine Gorgodze bounced back against Aneta Kucmova and Aneta Laboutkova to win 1-6, 6-2, 10-2.

In the “quarters”, Bara and Gorgodze will face either Ulrikke Eikeri/Magali Kempen, the number 1 favorites for the title, or Xinyu Wang/Saisai Zheng. This match will be played on Monday, February 2, on court 2.
