On September 29, a colleague wrote to Irina Usoltseva’s adult son and reported that she had not gone to work and that the family was going on vacation to the Partizansky district. On September 30, the young man filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies. A large-scale search for the family began immediately and continued for a long time. difficult weather conditions and at the maximum capabilities of operational services and volunteers. In mid-October the active phase was completed, having switched to the mode of targeted tasks: now they are dealt with by professionals and certified rescuers.

Various conspiracy theories were expressed on social networks and the media about the mysterious disappearance of the family, including that they could have fled to another country. But law enforcement officers and volunteer search engines believe the main version of what happened was an accident, associated with a sharp change in weather conditions in the mountains.
