Csikszereda was fined by the FRF with the amount of 25,312.50 lei as a result of the incidents from the match with FC Botoșani, 0-1, and Ferencvaros and Honved Budapesta, two important clubs from Hungary, announced that they want to pay the sanction.

The club from Miercurea Ciuc was fined under article 54.6, which includes racism, xenophobia, discrimination and denigration. Through the voices of the presidents, the two clubs announced that they will pay the fine together. The action is done out of solidarity for Csikszereda, considering the fine to be “unacceptable”.

“The Romanian Federation classified this as a threat of xenophobia and racism. Obviously, this is unacceptable, revolting, and such decisions have no place in Europe of the 21st century.

We will not allow the Romanian Football Federation to put Cșikszereda football club in a difficult situation with such sanctions or, in some cases, destroy it, so together with Ferencvaros we will help our friends from Csikszereda,” said Peter Szijjarto, president of Honved, in a clip uploaded to the club's Facebook page.

Ferencvaros counterpart Khubatov Gabor also made the same announcement on Facebook.

Zoltan Szondy, president of the Ciucan club, thanked the two. “We thanked the two presidents for their help, but if our appeal is successful, we will immediately return the amount. They are issuing court rulings that are against Romanian law, as no law prohibits the use of our national symbols.

I have documented all the anti-Hungarian demonstrations during the season and if the situation is not resolved by the end of the season, I will knock on UEFA's door with them to show what is happening here in 2026,” Szondy said, according to nemzetisport.hu.
