CFR Cluj officially announced the transfer of Slovenian striker Luka Zahovic (30 years old) from Gornik Zabrze, a player wanted by Gigi Becali (67 years old) to FCSB 8 years ago.
Arriving at Gornik Zabrze from Pogon Szczecin in the summer of 2024, Zahovic has missed most of this season due to injury. In Gornik Zabrze's last 3 official matches, the Slovenian has only been an unused substitute, last appearing on 21 November 2025, when he ticked off 84 minutes in a 1-1 Polish Premier League draw with Plock.

Luka started his career in Slovenia, at the well-known Maribor team, for which he played in 196 matches, scored 81 goals and provided 19 decisive assists. Along with this, he won the title of champion of Slovenia five times, being the competition's top scorer in two of those seasons.
In the last year and a half, he wore the shirt of the Poles from Gornik Zabrze, where he played 41 games and contributed decisively to 15 goals. During his career, he also played in Poland for Pogon Szczecin and Heerenveen, a team from the Netherlands.
At international level, Luka represents Slovenia, ticking off 15 selections for the national team, as well as numerous appearances for his country's junior teams. We wish you welcome, Luka, and as many achievements as possible with CFR Cluj!”, says the official press release of the CFR.

Raised in Benfica's academy, the Slovenian has played for Verzej, Maribor and Heerenveen throughout his career, in the Eredivisie scoring only 6 matches in the 2015-2016 season.
Luka Zahovic is currently quoted at 500,000 euros on transfermarkt goalkeeper.
