Krasnoyarsk universities were not included in the higher education reform program. In 2026, 11 more Russian universities will join the pilot project, but none of them are located in Krasnoyarsk.

As RIA Novosti reports with reference to State Duma deputy Ksenia Goryacheva, a new model is being gradually introduced in the country, which will replace bachelor's and master's degrees. It is currently being tested.

Since 2023, six universities have taken part in it. In 2026, the program added 11 more participants:

  • Far Eastern Federal University,
  • Stavropol State Agrarian University,
  • Tyumen State University,
  • Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin
  • Southern Federal University.
  • Moscow City Pedagogical University,
  • Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman (national research university),
  • Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (national research university),
  • Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogova,
  • Russian University of Transport,
  • St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University.

Students at Krasnoyarsk universities will continue their studies under the current “bachelor’s – master’s” system at least until 2027, when the reform becomes universal.
