The French government is resigning, reports Le Parisien.
The country's National Assembly adopted a resolution of no confidence in the government of Prime Minister Michel Barnier. This is the first time this has happened since 1962. This decision required a minimum of 289 votes. The result is 331.
Earlier, an ultimatum hung over Barnier. Far-right leader Marine Le Pen demanded that her terms for the 2025 budget be ceded, otherwise there would be a vote of no confidence. However, the government did not have a majority in parliament.
