“On the one hand, obviously, sovereignty is the most important thing related to international law. And on the other hand, any issues related to defense, which are legitimate, must be dealt with, especially in the context of two NATO countries, they must be dealt with through dialogue”he declared.
Asked about the possible union with the Republic of Moldova, the President of Romania said: “When a majority in the Republic of Moldova will want that. For the moment we are not there.”
Regarding the “Council for Peace”, proposed by Donald Trump, and the alleged refusal of the funds mentioned in the press, Nicușor Dan explained:
“No, no. We will discuss all these things in detail later. You realize that it is not a simple matter, right? It is a charter that engages the Romanian state in an international matter, and an analysis must be made of the relationship between the rights and obligations that would result from this charter and all other charters, the UN Charter, for example, to which Romania is a party. That's about it.”
Regarding the statements of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the role of Europe, Nicușor Dan emphasized the importance of dialogue:
“Yes, important is… important is dialogue. Of course you, the media, are very important and public statements are also important for… important is dialogue and for now we are in a balanced position. See you later, thank you!”
