In a match of the fourth stage of group L of the FIBA Europe Cup, CSM CSU Oradea was defeated by KK Bosna Sarajevo with 74-62. Bihoreni reached a record of 1-3 and are eliminated from the competition.
After the victory with Cedevita Junior in the previous round, CSM Oradea began to hope again for qualification in the quarter-finals of the FIBA Europe Cup. For that, Cristian Achim's team really needed an away success, on KK Bosna's ground.
Despite a good start, CSM Oradea lost at KK Bosna
The Red and Blues got off to a great start, leading 21-9 and looking on schedule and eager to avenge their road loss. CSM Oradea controlled most of the first half, but the hosts came back and took the lead right before the break: 33-32.
After returning from the locker room, the game remained balanced for a few minutes, but then Bosna took the initiative, had more fighting spirit and dominated their opponent. The away coach could not find solutions to turn the tide of the match and finally the group from Sarajevo won 74-62.
The leaders of the winner were Alfonso Plummer (17 points), Jarrod West (13 points) and Doko Salic (11 points).
On the other side, Thomas Bropleh (22 points, 8 rebounds) and Jaizec Lottie (16 points) stood out.
After this defeat, CSM Oradea reached a record of 1-3 in group L and has no chance of qualifying for the quarterfinals of the FIBA Europe Cup. That's because Pallacanestro Reggiana won easily against Cedevita Junior, score 83-60, and the Italian team qualified further along with KK Bosna.
