In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a 56-year-old resident of Achinsk has been charged with fatally beating her partner with a rolling pin, committed 21 years ago.

As the Investigative Committee said, on October 7, 2004, a man was admitted to the hospital with bodily injuries, from which he died a few days later. A criminal case was opened on this fact, but, despite the complex of investigative actions carried out, it was not possible to identify the person involved in the death of the man, and the investigation was suspended. As part of the systematic work to uncover and investigate crimes of past years, investigators and criminologists of the State Investigative Directorate re-examined the materials; the use of modern expert research methods made it possible to establish the circumstances of the incident.

Law enforcement officers reconstructed the deceased’s social circle in detail, re-interrogated witnesses and found new eyewitnesses who gave crucial testimony.

“The people interrogated said that at the end of September 2004, during a feast, a conflict occurred between the victim and his partner: the woman threw the man to the floor and struck him several times on the head with a wooden rolling pin. The victim did not seek medical help for a week, which led to a deterioration in his condition. The witnesses confirmed their testimony as part of the investigative experiment. The commission medical examination found that the bodily injuries that led to the death of the victim arose as a result of the unlawful actions of the cohabitant. In October 2025, a 56-year-old resident of Achinsk was detained and taken to Krasnoyarsk. “Under the weight of the evidence presented, she admitted guilt in the crime,” the Investigative Committee said.

🔵At present, the investigation of the criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim through negligence). The investigation has collected a sufficient evidence base incriminating the defendant in committing the incriminated act; the materials have been sent to the prosecutor's office for approval of the indictment and subsequent transfer to the court for consideration on the merits.
