A 36-year-old sailor from a barge on the Danube was reported missing on Wednesday morning near the town of Islaz, Teleorman county. Several rescue crews intervene to look for him, but the mission is difficult because of the fog and strong frost, ISU Teleorman announced.
The disappearance of the sailor was reported on Wednesday morning, around 08.09, by the members of the barge located on the Danube river, at km 606, in the area of Islaz.
“The mission of the rescuers is extremely difficult due to the weather conditions, dense fog and strong frost,” ISU Teleorman said.
For the search and rescue mission, a crew from the Turnu Măgurele Detachment with a rescue boat, a crew from the Border Police with a boat, an ambulance and the diving teams of ISU Teleorman and ISU Giurgiu are going to the indicated area.
