Former Sutton Coldfield Town women's manager Ryan Hamilton has been banned from football for 12 years after sexually abusing several female players over two years between 2022 and 2024.

The FA decided to ban him for 12 years following an investigation which found 23 of the 24 allegations against him were upheld, according to theguardian.com.

Ryan Hamilton was sacked by the English League Four side in November 2024.

Hamilton was also accused of having an aggressive management style where he verbally intimidated and humiliated his female players. Furthermore, one of the players claimed she was kissed without her consent in the coach's car, and on several occasions Hamilton made sexually suggestive comments and made inappropriate advances to her.

The manager denied the allegations, but the FA received evidence from four players and a member of staff. All coach feats were between May 2022 and November 2024.

Thus, the Disciplinary Committee in England took the decision to suspend him from any activity related to football for 12 years, and the English Federation stated that it had nothing to add beyond the decision of the committee.

Women should be able to play football without being subjected to the kind of behavior that Mr Hamilton has shown towards them. Women's football is thriving, and in order for it to continue to flourish, a clear message must be sent that such behavior will not be tolerated and will be punished with the most severe consequences.
