Alanyaspor attacking midfielder Ianis Hagi (28) played 60 minutes in the 2-2 draw with Karagumruk in the Turkish Cup. At the end of the game, he talked about the game in which he had a goal disallowed, about life in Turkey and about Romania's playoff in March.
GSP attended Ianis Hagi's match in the Turkish Cup, in which the Romanian midfielder managed to score. His feat was disallowed for a phase construction foul. The Romanian international criticized the refereeing, considering that his goal was valid.
Ianis Hagi: “But I got used to the decisions in Turkish football”
“I don't think it was a foul. At this professional level, you can't give that foul. But I'm used to the decisions in Turkish football. We're unhappy with the result. With a win we were one foot into the quarters.
Now we have to get four points in the next matches, against a team from the second league and against Galatasaray. It will be quite difficult. We've made life hard enough. But, no… we're mad.
I worked well in the training camp, I had a good match with Metaloglobus. We finished the year well and now we start like this… I don't think it was our best game. Now the match with Fenerbahce follows. This season we played well with the big teams and I hope to keep it that way”, said Ianis Hagi, in Turkey.
This year there are many expectations, we have a lot of work. We hope it turns out the way we want.

What Ianis Hagi said about the match against Turkey, from March
About the match against Turkey, from March, Ianis Hagi said:
“There are still 10-15 games until March. There are many more games. I hope we are healthy. Now I am thinking about my club, to be as good as possible here. And good games here will help me to be in the best shape possible in March.
We have a lot to do at the club until then. Yes, I'm talking to Mr. Lucescu and all my colleagues. We are thinking about the game in March, but the most important thing is to be healthy and play as well and as much as possible until then.
We have a very good team. Everyone stepped up when needed. We are a talented team, but we haven't reached our full potential. These matches are exams for us. I strongly believe that we can make a difference. The Turks did not see us all at full capacity. They need to be scared of more players, not just me.
I don't think it's the first time we'll play in a stadium with such a crowd. We all have European experience with international matches. I think the atmosphere is the last problem for us. The most important thing is to be healthy, play at clubs and believe in ourselves. I know we can handle the atmosphere in the stadium.
Every supporter counts, from the smallest to the biggest. We want to make them happy. I don't want us to go to Turkey thinking we have a second chance. We are thinking of qualifying. We need everyone and we need to go all out in Turkey to qualify. I want us to win. I have great confidence that everyone knows what to do and how to prepare. We are all professionals. We will be strong.”
Ianis Hagi: “I'm always marked man to man”
Ianis Hagi also spoke about adapting to Turkish football. He says that he is marked man-to-man every game, which makes his game difficult in the last 30 meters.
“I'm fine. I've accomplished everything I set out to do. Turkish football is different from what I have encountered in my career, but I have adapted quite well. Since November I am happy with everything I do until the last 30 meters. It's harder from there.
I'm always marked man to man. Me, the coach and my teammates are trying to adapt to this situation. Teams try to avoid this. We hope that in the future we will play better than today and collect more points.
People have put their trust in us and so far we have delivered. We are on target both in the championship and in the Cup. We all want more and have good potential, we have proven that. We showed that we are a strong team. We hope to have as good a time as possible”, declared Ianis Hagi.
It's a joy I've never experienced before, It's totally different. My thoughts are only about the family and the child. i am happy i feel good I want us all to be healthy.
