Austrian Jan Hoerl was second, and his compatriot Manuel Fettner was third. Kacper Tomasiak was 11th, Maciej Kot 18th and Paweł Wąsek 23rd.

The World Cup leader, Slovenian Domen Prevc, was classified 27th.

The competition was observed by the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, and his wife. Adam Małysz was waiting for the President of the Republic of Poland in Zakopane. The head of the Polish Ski Association welcomed Nawrocki with flowers. The president was at both competition series and presented the prizes to the winners after the competition. Nawrocki's predecessor, Andrzej Duda, who has been attending competitions in Zakopane for years, was also on the stand.

The competition was held in difficult conditions, with heavy snow, air temperatures reaching minus 11 degrees Celsius and strong, variable winds. Especially in the second series, even with a shortened inrun, the competitors had big problems in the air. Suffice it to say that the World Cup leader, Slovenian Domen Prevc, scored only 113.5 m in the second round and ultimately finished 27th. It was his worst start of the season.

After the first series, Wąsek was ninth after landing on 129 m. Hoerl was in the lead, landing on 144.5 m. Lanisek was second – 138 m, and Fettner was third – 135.5 m. Apart from Wąsek, 10th Kacper Tomasiak – 126.5 m and 20th Maciej Kot – 124.5 m advanced to the final series. He did not advance to the final series. 36. Dawid Kubacki – 122.5 and 42. Kamil Stoch – 119.5 m.

– I'm not in a good mood, nothing worked today, I was just weak – Stoch told a Eurosport reporter. – My level in sports is still poor, of course I wanted to do better, but I couldn't. The desire was there, I was counting on two jumps today, but it didn't work out. The hopes were different and the reality was different, he added.

In the second series, Lanisek shined, he achieved 137 m and moved up to the leading position. Hoerl, who was leading after the first series, had only 135.5 and fell to second place. He lost 13.3 points to the Slovenian. Fettner retained third place after the first series, landing on 135 m.

– Today you had to be a bit lucky, but I did both jumps very well. I am very pleased and happy with this victory, said Lanisek. This is the third victory of the 29-year-old Slovenian this season, after Sweden's Falun and Finland's Ruka. Lanisek has already won eleven World Cup wins.

Kot was seventh after his second jump – 127.5 m, and was ultimately classified in 18th position. Wąsek ruined his result, he only reached 109.5 m in very difficult conditions and fell to 23rd place in the final classification. Tomasiak, 10th after the first attempt, had 121 m in the second jump, which gave him 11th place.

After the competition in Zakopane, coach Maciej Maciusiak decided that Stoch would not play in Sapporo, Japan, next weekend. The three-time Olympic champion admitted that he had already approached the coaching staff with such a proposal.
