PiS wants Stefan Krajewski dismissed. This is about the agreement with Mercosur

Last Friday, European Union countries, despite the opposition of Poland and France, agreed to conclude an agreement with Mercosur. Italy's support proved decisive. The document is to be signed on January 17. At the same time, a strengthened protection clause was adopted, which will allow temporary exclusion of customs preferences for local producers in the event of a drop in prices of sensitive products in the EU or a sudden inflow of large volumes of goods from Mercosur.

“The minister shows arrogance”
The agreement, which is opposed by farmers in Europe, provides tariff preferences for certain agricultural products such as beef, poultry, dairy products, sugar and ethanol. In return, Mercosur markets are to open to European industrial goods, including cars, machinery and medicines.
In his statement on the X platform, Mariusz Błaszczak accused Krajewski of not being decisive in defending the interests of Polish farmers. “Instead of firmly defending the interests of the Polish countryside, Minister Krajewski shows arrogance and disregard for the voice of farmers. The Polish countryside needs defense, not passivity,” wrote the politician.
Threats against the minister
On Friday, farmers protested in Warsaw against the EU-Mercosur agreement. In their opinion, the inflow of cheap food from outside the EU, produced without European quality standards, may threaten the future of Polish agriculture.
On the same evening, Minister Stefan Krajewski informed Polsat News about an incident near his property in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. As he reported, someone spilled slurry, tried to damage the fence and made threats against him. The police detained a 35-year-old resident of the Lublin Voivodeship in this case. The prosecutor's office brought charges against him, including unlawful threats and insulting a constitutional body. The detained person pleaded not guilty, and investigators filed a request for his arrest.
