The only stadium in Superliga 1 with three stands, officially inaugurated today » How it looks after the modernization

The city Slobozia celebrate The wait is over, and the “1 Mai” Municipal Stadium was inaugurated on Saturday at noon, with the friendly match between the home team and Oțelul Galati. About 2,000 fans came to the newly renovated arena.

Unirea Slobozia waited for the opening of the new stadium, which underwent a renovation process, and the 10th of January marked the first match in the arena that will henceforth host the home games of Andrei Prepelita and Jean Vlădoiu's team.

What works were done, exactly, with the approximately 2.65 million euros of public money? The stadium benefits from a new, hybrid turf, a 5-lane, 400-metre long tartan running track, drainage system, automatic irrigation and electric heating.

The Romanian Football Federation has provisionally approved the arena, which will have to receive the following days and nights.

About 2,000 fans came to the stadium for the first home game, despite the low temperature. Oțelul Galati also brought about 10 supporters to the inauguration of the Slobozia stadium.

Even if the organizers have not removed the snow from the track near the pitch, the lawn is in very good condition.

At the first home match, in the newly renovated stadium, entry was free.

The supporters did not leave aside the old habits either, being seen in the stands with bags of seeds in hand. One supporter was even more creative and, despite the snow that is still present on the ground, chose to come to the stadium by bicycle. What's more, he even went inside the arena with her.

Nocturna is due next week

Alexandru Potor, the mayor of the city of Slobozia given by the PSD, spoke to GSP.ro before the inauguration of the stadium, right on the field. He said when the nightstand would be installed and how much the project cost.

It's a very nice feeling, because finally, after a long time, I'm back home. Our soul team, Unirea Slobozia, will play this first friendly match, but I hope that next week all things will still be fine. This stadium has been provisionally approved by the Federation and we still have no reason to believe that things will not go well. Next week we will have the first match in the official league, in Slobozia, the first match in the history of Slobozia in the first league.

We're really enjoying it, I wish it was summertime, but even though it's cold and we have a little snow, the pitch looks great, we say. And not me, because I am not a specialist, those who usually play said that it is good and that the sport will be at a high level.

It's a very long story, if we take it administratively I'm not satisfied, there were many moments with the implementation of this stadium. The company did a good job on the stadium side, on the night side there were some delays that I don't like, I don't want to talk about them at the moment. The important thing is for it to be good, for the stadium to be accredited, and for Unirea to win.

We have the official shipping documents for the nocturnal, it's on its way to us, probably coming in a few days, the construction part. But the pillars are mounted, the electrical part, the wiring, are laid. Nocturna will be raised very quickly.

There were several stages in which this project evolved, somewhere around 13.5 million new lei is the total cost, up to the current phase, but there are still things to be added. Probably towards the middle of the summer we will be able to talk about the final value of the project. I'm very close to the team, it's the city's team, naturally we all want the team to have as long a journey as possible in League 1, it's a joy.

I want to insist, I'm glad that alongside the big team we have a lot of children in the junior groups, many families involved, I'm glad that the sport is supported. Work has been done to set up a good track, it will be used. It is also an impetus for the team, a support for young people. I think we will play in League 1 next season as well. It is not easy to evolve at this football level, but I trust that everyone will do their job at the highest levels and we will meet here several times in the stadium.
