A Russian journalist died as a result of falling from the window of a seventh-floor apartment on Rue de la Roseraie in Meudon near Paris. However, the circumstances of the incident raise doubts, says “Le Parisien”. At this stage of the investigation, the version of suicide was accepted. The man was alive when help arrived. He was taken to hospital, where he died. In the apartment he shared with a roommate, the police found a chair placed in front of the window and letters written in Russian. They also found medicines in the trash bin, reports “Le Parisien”.
According to information collected by the police, the 38-year-old may have received “death threats,” says a source close to the case. The prosecutor's office in Nanterre opened an investigation “to determine the causes of death” and to clarify “the identity of the victim.”
The roommate present at the scene was in a state of shock, and the language barrier prevented him from being questioned immediately. The police were unable to determine whether the man had witnessed falling out of the window or not. The investigation is being carried out by officers from the Meudon police station.
