Algeria qualified for the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations after a dramatic 1-0 extra-time victory over Democratic Republic of Congo at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.

The hero of the North Africans was Adil Boulbina, registered at Al-Duhail, from Qatar, who scored in the last phase of overtime, a decisive success for the national team whose goalkeeper is Luca Zidane, the son of the legendary French Zinedine Zidane.

Algeria, total control in regulation time

Algeria will face Nigeria in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations

Algeria reached the knockout stages after finishing first in Group E with 9 points from a possible 9, 7 goals scored and only one conceded. On the other hand, DR Congo qualified from second place in Group D, remaining unbeaten before this duel.

Thanks to this success, Algeria will meet Nigeria in the quarter-finals, the team led by Victor Osimhen, in a fiery duel scheduled for January 10. The winner will play in the semifinals with the winner of the game Cameroon – Morocco.
