President Nicusor Dan traveled on Tuesday with a Spartan plane to Paris, to participate in the meeting of the heads of state and government within the “Coalition of the Will”. On board the aircraft, the head of state told journalists that it is a difficult international context and that it is not the time for “revolutions and destabilization in Romania”, which is why he advocates for “a gradual change”.
“A gradual change. We are in a difficult international context and this is not the time for revolutions and destabilization in Romania”, said Nicusor Dan, when asked what he wants for Romania this year, according to News.ro.
The meeting of the heads of state and government of the “Coalition of the Willing” (Coalition of the Willing), in which President Nicusor Dan is participating, takes place on Tuesday at the Élysée Palace, in Paris, as previously announced by the Presidential Administration.
President Nicusor Dan declared, in September, after the meeting of the “Coalition of Will” of that time, that the pressure on Russia must be maintained, because it continues to demonstrate that it does not want peace and only understands the language of force, and Romania supports the adoption of additional sanctions.
The head of state also said that Ukraine's strong security and the further strengthening of NATO's position on the eastern flank and on the Black Sea “go hand in hand”.
The countries that support Kiev met in Paris on Tuesday in an attempt to move towards a solution to the war in Ukraine, which has been going on for four years.
The summit of the “Coalition of the Will” will bring together 35 countries that support Ukraine and aims to show the “convergence” between Washington, the Europeans and Kiev regarding the “operational modalities” of security guarantees for Ukraine, the Élysée Palace announced on Monday, according to AFP.
