Russian troops bombed the company of a large American agricultural producer, Bunge, in the city of Dnieper in central Ukraine; As a result of the attack, 300 tons of vegetable oil were spilled onto the city streets, said the mayor of Dnieper, Boris Filatov, on Monday.

“As a result of the drone attack, 300 tons of oil was spilled on the Dnieper roads! Municipal workers are cleaning up, pouring sand and mixture, but driving along Naberezhnaya Street will be impossible for about 2-3 days,” he wrote in the Telegram messenger.
“The Russians bombed American property because the enterprise belongs to the Bunge company based in Saint Louis, Missouri,” Filatov emphasized.

The Interfax-Ukraine agency explained that the Bunge-Ukraine company has two oil extraction plants in this country: a large complex in Dnieper (Dnepropetrovsk MEZ, producing oil under the Olejna brand) and a modern plant in Mykolaiv, which processes sunflower and soybeans and has a port export terminal. The company also runs the Bunge Kołos plant near Kharkov, which also produces oil. These companies process sunflower seeds and produce sunflower oil and meal.
Sibiha: Russia deliberately attacks American plants in Ukraine
The Russians deliberately hit an American oil production plant in the city of Dnipro, and numerous attacks on US companies in Ukraine show Moscow's complete disregard for President Donald Trump's peace efforts, said the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiha, on Monday.
“A deliberate Russian attack damaged a civilian sunflower oil production plant in Dnieper, owned by the well-known American company Bunge. This attack was not a mistake – it was intentional because the Russians repeatedly tried to hit this facility,” Sybiha wrote on the X platform.
The minister stated that Russia systematically attacks American companies operating in Ukraine. He mentioned the destruction of the Boeing office in Kiev, the attack on a large American-owned electronics manufacturer in the Zakarpattia Oblast and other facilities.
He emphasized that during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, which has been ongoing since February 2022, about half of the members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine reported damage or destruction of their facilities on various scales.
“(Russian leader) Vladimir Putin's attacks on American companies and American interests in Ukraine show his complete disregard for the peace efforts led by President Donald Trump. That is why it is so urgent to accelerate the peace process – Ukraine is ready to move it forward – as well as to strengthen Ukraine's air defense and increase sanctions pressure,” said the head of Ukrainian diplomacy.
“Moscow's refusal to respond to Ukraine's constructive steps towards peace must come at a price, and the Kremlin must feel that this price is serious,” Sybiha said.
