Tottenham have loaned centre-back Kota Takai (21) to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga.
Tottenham have given up one of the stoppers in the squad. It is about the Japanese Kota Takai, bought in the summer of 2025 for 5.8 million euros from his native country, from Kawasaki Frontale.

Takai did not get to debut in the lilywhite first team. He was unavailable for several months, injured, and when he resumed, he did not enter into the short-term plans of coach Thomas Frank.
This loan will most likely have consequences for Radu Drăgușin, the only Romanian player in the Premier League.
What does this mean for Radu Drăgușin?
The Romanian defender was considering changing the team this winter if he did not receive assurances that he would play enough minutes, but in this new context, in which Tottenham only 4 defenders left, it is unlikely that the London team will let him go.
The undisputed holders of the central defender positions remain Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. During the 11 months when Drăgușin was unavailable, Kevin Danso became the first alternative to the two starters.
That means that the Romanian is currently the fourth option, the only other professional stopper in the group. If necessary, Ben Davies could also be used there, but the Welshman is originally a left back.
After returning to the Spurs team, Drăgușin was used in a single match, in the last minutes of the victory against Crystal Palace (1-0). At 1-2 with Liverpool and 0-0 with Brentford he was an unused substitute.
Several Italian teams are interested in his services, including Juventus, AS Roma and Fiorentina.
Tottenham also has a central defender on loan in Germany, the talented Croatian Luka Vuskovic (18), at Hamburger SV.
