A Romanian teenager is in critical condition, in Italy, after the explosion of a firecracker on New Year's Eve

A 17-year-old Romanian teenager is in critical condition at the hospital in Italy, after being seriously injured by the explosion of a firecracker on New Year's Eve, reports the Italian agency ANSA.
According to the news agency, taken over by Agerpres on Friday, the traditional chaos caused by fireworks on New Year's Eve in Italy resulted in one death and 283 injuries, including 68 minors, according to the official balance sheet of the Public Security Department.
Among the most serious cases is a 17-year-old Romanian boy, who was urgently transported by helicopter from the town of Vieste. The young man suffered serious injuries to his hands, neck and face, and his left hand was amputated. His condition is critical.
The deceased person, a 63-year-old Moldovan
Also, among the victims is a deceased Moldovan citizen. It is a 63-year-old man, found dead in Acilia, a suburb of Rome. According to the carabinieri, he died as a result of a hemorrhage caused by the explosion of a firecracker he was holding.
The Italian authorities recall that the incidents took place despite the bans on the use of firecrackers in many localities, and the emergency services and firefighters intervened hundreds of times during the New Year's Eve.
