Alexandru Dedu proposed his return to the top of Romanian handball. He is again running for the FRH presidency
Former international Alexandru Dedu announced on Thursday, on his Facebook page, that he will submit his candidacy for the presidency of the Romanian Handball Federation in the elections scheduled this year.

Dedu also led FRH between 2014 and 2022.
“The FRH “elections” are approaching. In recent months, I have thought very seriously about whether a new candidacy for the position of president is the right choice for me. I divided the sheet in half and put the pluses and minuses. Among the many pro/con reasons are: family, family, family, duty, career, the SCM Timișoara project, age, experience, strength, interpersonal relationships and last but not least the love for sport and especially for Handball, my life.
Why am I writing all this now, on January 1st? Because I promised a lot of people that I'm not postponing the decision anymore. As such, YES, I will run!”Dedu transmitted.
“The main goal is not to win the election!”
“DI want to come before you and tell you how I see the reality of handball. I think I'm in the best position right now to do a real analysis. Why this apparent lack of modesty? Due to the sports CV, due to the many years spent in sports administration at the top level (President LPH, President FRH, Vice-President COSR, Vice-President FRHG, Member of the ComEx of COSR for winter sports), due to the fact that I did not 'cough' to 'go back to the grass' and work with you, at the club level, where I lived and live all the daily problems you face.
Professional results, family, attitude and behavior I believe justify me in making the above statement!”Dedu also said.
“My conditions are…”
In recent years, Alexandru Dedu has brought his managerial experience to Romanian handball, holding this position at the Corona Brașov and SCM Timișoara clubs.
“Knowing the reality inside the FRH and already having experience in this sense, I know how much work and especially how hard it will be to re-enter a normal path. Because of this, if any former Romanian international with real experience gained in strong professional championships will run, I will take a step back and support him.
My conditions are: to be younger or as young as possible, to be a former player of the national team, to have had the chance to know from the inside a strong championship and the specific mentality, to have close ideas in connection with the implementation of a strategy at the country level. It would help enormously to also have administrative and/or academic experience. I think fondly of Cristina Vărzaru, Mica Brădeanu, Mihai Popescu or Iulian Stamate. I am sure there are others, but I know and respect the ones listed.
To those who question the above words, I remind them that I resigned with honor (there is even a possible comparison in our world) from the position of vice-president of COSR, a position filled following a roll call, at the time when I was no longer FRH president!”Alexandru Dedu also emphasized.
