“Seems on a good track”

Mihai Stere, 49 years old, an important figure in the midfield in one of FC Brașov's best teams, with over 200 games in the first echelon of Romanian football, currently a coach in the 3rd League, at Zărnești, says that he constantly watches the matches in the 1st League, for the show and the goals, without supporting a specific team, being still 100% connected to the phenomenon.
He notes the good form of Craiova and FCSB, despite the precipitous start to the season. At the same time, he appreciates the re-establishment of Corona Brașov, leader in League 4, and hopes for a promotion and a healthy project for the city.

“We are looking forward to this period, when we meet again with our former colleagues: some are still playing on the court, others we support them from the stands. We are on a well-deserved vacation with the team from Zărnești, we are waiting for the holidays to pass and then get down to work for the return trip.
The situation at the team is good at the end of the year, financial resources have been found to pay salaries. We hope that there will be sufficient funds next year as well. It's a nice feeling to meet up with former colleagues or opponents, to reminisce. We are discussing more about the past, not about the present”, said Mihai Stere at the GSP microphone.
“I follow League 1 very carefullyI watch most of the matches on TV and hope the next question won't be who I'm with. I don't stick with any particular team, I like to watch the games, the show and the many goals.
Craiova University and FCSB surprised me, especially in the first part of the season, and now they seem to be on an upward trend. I am convinced that they will catch the play-off“, the former midfielder also declared in the hall in Brașov, present at the “Tournament of the Stars”.
“Corona was re-established in Brașov, which occupies the first place in the 4th League and seems to be on a good path. If it manages to pass the barrier, next year it will play in the 3rd League. I hope it will be a healthy project, because Brașov needs a team in a higher echelon“, he continued.

Football from Corona Brașov went through two distinct periods. The first came to an abrupt end after promotion to Ligue 1 in 2013, when the adventure on the first stage brought swift relegation, heavy financial losses and a scandal that remained without concrete consequences.
-
The second stage started in 2016, as an academy project, later expanded to senior level. In 2021, Corona reached League 2, but the place was given to a newly created structure that took over the FC Brașov brand and evolved in the second tier.
-
The resulting club was plagued by instability, litigation and bad managerial decisions.
-
Currently, the local authorities intend to restart football under the Corona umbrella, with affiliation to AJF Brașov and registration in League 4, and next summer a new large-scale project, FC Metropolitan Brașov, supported by the local administration, will be launched.
