Lemnaru wanted to contradict Iorgulescu, declaring that Unirea Slobozia has no problems that are close to insolvency and there is no risk of not finishing the competitive season.
Instead, he reported that the team lost around 500,000 euros because they could not play at home in Slobozia in the Superliga. The stadium works are close to completion, and Unirea plans to return to Slobozia in 2026.
Ilie Lemnaru, Unirea Slobozia president: “Our club is not threatened for a second with the possibility of not finishing the season”
“Contrary to what is circulating in the media, our club is not in any of the mentioned positions, has no financial difficulties bordering on insolvency and is not threatened for a second with the possibility of not finishing the season.
Just today I was called by Mr. President Iorgulescu, who said that he only referred to the fact that, playing in Clinceni, the costs are very high. He is right, because with this we lost somewhere around 500 thousand euros from the budget since the promotion to the Superliga.
We are a serious club, we stretched ourselves exactly as much as we can afford and, at the last monitoring by the FRF, we came out very well, with some payments even in advance”, said Ilie Lemnaru, for GSP.ro.

What Gino Iorgulescu had declared
“I have information that there are teams with debts that could go into insolvency. There are some that probably won't finish the championship. God forbid something like that.
There are Slobozia, Petrolul, teams standing on quicksand. We are doing our best to help them, but up to a certain point”, said Gino Iorgulescu, president of the League, according to prosport.ro.
